Back To Game
Spore is a multi-genre "massively single-player online game" developed by Maxis and designed by Will Wright. It allows a player to control the evolution of a species from its beginnings as a unicellular organism, through development as an intelligent and social creature, to interstellar exploration as a spacefaring culture. It has drawn wide attention for its massive scope, and its use of open-ended gameplay and procedural generation.

Agreed. Everyone bitched and moaned when steam first came about, but now it's a picture perfect example of digital distribution and drm done right.

Sure, it has it's flaws, but the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. Like being able to log onto any computer with your steam account and have access to every game you have ever purchased on steam, even games you have purchased prior to steam (half life, cs, etc.)

This is truly the future of pc gaming. I just don't see brick and mortar keeping for to much longer.

It's a terrible idea. Steam and Valve have solved those issues more or less. The simple way to take care of all of this is to develop a licensing program fro game centers and adopt a Steam-like content distribution system and platform that more or less prevents piracy as far as the end user is concerned.Quote

So what is everyones take on the drm situation? Limited to 3 installs?

The amazon.com listing for spore currently has thousands of negative reviews based solely on the drm.
